There is a formula for difference of 2 cubes

x³-y³ = (x-y)(x²+xy+y²)

 

Difference of two squares:

(x²-y²) = (x-y)(x+y)

 

Your polynomial is:

[(x-y)(x²+xy+y²)]/[(x-y)(x+y)]

Cancelling out the common factor of (x-y)

 

(x²+xy+y²)/(x+y)
