Jared, the first thing you need to do is start using
parenthesis to properly group your problems when
typing them in here. This should rightly be:
(5r2-20)/5 which is not the same as what you input.
Factoring the numerator we can divide a 5 out of both terms:
(5r2-20)/5 = 5(r2-4)/5 = r2-4
This is the difference of two squares factoring to
(r-2)(r+2)
There are no restrictions on the variable r since the
problem does not have any variables in the denominator.
