The process is very difficult to show here.  It is difficult to see the format.

Across the top write the coefficient in descending order, if there is a missing term fill in with a zero.  Here there are no missing terms.  Skip a line and then draw a line across.

Write the 1st coefficient below the line.  multiply it by 2 and place below the -5 and then add.

Multiply the result by 2, write it under the 7  and then add.  Keep the process  going until the last term

 

ANSWER:  f(2)=31
