48x⁷y⁶−3xy/6xy

 

i thought it was 8x^6y^5-2 but apparently its wrong. idk what to do please help me

-3xy/6xy is [ (-3xy) / 6] • xy which equals (-1/2)x²y²  not -1/2 and not -2.

 

So the answer is: ( 48x⁷y⁶ ) - ( ( 1/2 ) x²y² )

 

PEMDAS  And you perform the M and D in order left to right then the A and S in order left to right.

You do not perform all the Ms and then all the Ds. M and D have no precedence over each other.

You do not perform all the As and then all the Ss.  A and S have no precedence over each other.

Unless you really meant:

( 48x⁷y⁶−3xy ) / (6xy )

OR unless you really meant:

( 48x⁷y⁶ ) − (3xy ) / (6xy )

Mathematics is a language; and just like in English, you need to get the subjects, verbs,

adjectives, commas, and parenthesis in the right place or it loses its meaning.

The term 8x⁶y⁵ is correct, but -3xy/6xy = -1/2, not -2.

 

So, the answer is 8x⁶y⁵ - ½
