Hi Seth,
I am assuming that the divisor is for both, you did not make it clear
(x2y-x4y3)/-x2y = x2y(1 - x2y)/ -x2y, the x2y at the top and bottom cancel out you have a negative - 1 left
= - (1 - x2y) or
= -1 + x2y
