I am assuming that the divisor is for both, you did not make it clear

 

(x²y-x⁴y³)/-x²y = x²y(1 - x²y)/ -x²y, the x²y at the top and bottom cancel out you have a negative - 1 left

                        = - (1 - x²y) or

                        = -1 + x²y
