Since multiplication distributes over addition we must distribute the 6ab to all three terms inside the parentheses.
6ab(a^2 -ab+2) =6ab*a^2-6ab*ab+6ab*2
=6(a*a^2 )b-6(a*a)(b*b)+(6*2)ab
=6a^3 b-6a^2 b^2+12ab
6ab(a^2 -ab+2) =6ab*a^2-6ab*ab+6ab*2
=6(a*a^2 )b-6(a*a)(b*b)+(6*2)ab
=6a^3 b-6a^2 b^2+12ab
