    You can also think of the problem in the following way:  (8¹x¹s¹)²=8^(1*2)x^(1*2)s^(1*2) =8²x²s² =Just simplify here.

 

Say that you have the problem, (2³x²a³)² =(multiply the power outside with the power for each number and variable.)= 2^(3*2)x^(2*2)a^(3*2) =2⁶x⁴a⁶ =64x⁴a⁶
