Simplify this expression by using the properties of exponents. You may leave your answer as a number to a power.
(5u)^4 * (5u)^2
im so confused!

Hi Seth,
I haven't followed your previous exponential problems so I'll give it a try.
Let's say you're multiplying 2^4 x 2^2.
That's 2x2x2x2x2x2 = 64 which is 2^6 --> the sixth power is the 4th power plus the second power.
So you can see that when multiplying the same number with exponents, you add the exponents. This concept doesn't change if there is the same variable next to each number . . like "u" next to 5.
So what do you think the answer is to (5u)^4 x (5u)^2??
