sin34° = altitude/length of kite

length of kite =altitude/sin34° = 18/sin34° =32 meters

The current altitude of the kite above the ground is the length of the perpendicular (P) of the right-angled triangle which have the the length of the kite string as its hypotenuse (H) Then

P/H= sin 34°

=>P=H sin 34° .. multiplying both sides by H

=>H=P/sin 34° ...dividing both sides by sin 34° 

=>H=18/0.55919290347074683016042813998599

=H≈32  meters

 

Therefore, the length of the kite string is 32 meter.
