A grain silo is in the shape a cylinder with a hemisphere top. The cylinder is 20 feet tall. The volume of the silo is 2106(pie sign) cubic feet. Find the radius of the silo.

The volume of the rectangular prism is 105 cubic units. Find the dimensions of the prism.

V=∏r²h

2106∏=∏r²*20

divide both sides by ∏

2106=r²*20

divide both sides by 20

2106/20=r²

105.3=r²

take the square root of both sides

√105.3=√r²

10.26158=r

r=10.26158 feet  (round as needed)

 

V=lwh

105=lwh

there are many, many answers but if the answers are integers...

105=3*5*7

the length, width, and height are 3 units, 5 units, and 7 units and the three dimensions are interchangeable

the length could be 3 or 5 or 7

the width could be 3 or 5 or 7

the height could be 3 or 5 or 7
