Algebra word problem, only need a quick answer

Question

The longest side of a triangle is 3cm longer than twice the shortest side. The other side is 7cm longer than the shortest side.  If the perimeter of the triangle is 94cm, what is the length of the longest side (in cm)?

Answer 1

S = short side of triangle

L = longest side of triangle = 2S + 3

O = 3rd side of triangle = S + 7

 

P = perimeter = 94cm

 

S + 2S+3 + S+7 = 94

4S + 10 = 94

4S = 84

S = 21

 

L = 2S + 3 = 2(21)+3 = 45cm
