Information:

Substitute the information into the perimeter equation:

2*(width + 35) + 2*width = 266

Distribute the 2 and combine like terms:

-> 4*width + 70 = 266

Isolate the variable:

-> 4*width = 196

-> width = 49 feet

 

Plug in width into the information equation:

length = 49 + 35  = 84 feet.
