Hi Shay
This is a pretty broad topic and Ayma is correct--gather information.
1) Do you have a history textbook? If so, look in the index for the Civil Rights Movement.
2) Do an internet search for "civil rights movement history" and use a reliable source--.org or .edu are usually the best. history.com is another source, and PBS (public broadcasting system) has a lot of information for students on this topic because they have done tv shows on this.
3) Use an encyclopedia, and look up the Civil Rights Movement. Encyclopedias are terrific resources because they give a good overview of the topic. Sometimes the World Book will give an outline on a topic at the end of the article.
You will probably want to start with the late 1940s or early 1950s.
As you do the research you will probably have more questions. As those questions come up, post them up here. We'll try to help guide you.
