A team played 20 games total. They won 4 more games than they lost. How many games did they win? How many games did they lose?

We do not understand the question. If they played 20 games total, won 4 more than they lost, couldn't how many they won and lost be multiple answers?  They say there is 1 answer.

Since they played 20 games, the wins and losses must add to 20.

I'll stop there. you can see, the only combination that also satisfies that they won 4 more than they lost is 12 W and 8 L.
