What does the bracket around the ethyl group mean ? and how do you name this using the IUPAC system?

(CH3Ch2)2CHCHOHCCH3CH3CH3 ? (there are 2 methyl groups on the 2nd Carbon and an alcohol on the 3rd carbon)

Thank you that makes more sense writing it this way! Just wondering if the parent chain has 6 or 7 carbons? To me it looks like 6 since there is only 1 ethyl group attached at the end on the 4th carbon. The answer for the question in the textbook is 4-ethyl-2,2dimethyl-3-hexanol

Oops - I miscounted - it is only six. It's written correctly, and numbered correctly, just a hexanol. Sorry about that.
