The witche's guild has very strict rules. ON Halloween, each witch must score 13 people, and each ghost must scare 33 people. What was the total number of people scared by a group of 135 ghosts and 273 witches if 1.235 people were by both a ghost and a witch?

First find G = total number of people scared by ghosts
and W = total number of people scared by witches
Then add these 2 numbers together. Note that you have double counted the people who were scared by both a ghost and a witch, so you must subtract this number from the sum to find the actual number of people scared.
