1-Mrs. fairbourn went to kneaders to buy some bread. The apple bread cost $5 more than the pumpkin spice. Orange rolls were $8 less than the apple bread. Freshly baked whole wheat was twice as much as the orange rolls. If Mrs. Fairborn spent $38.50, how much was each type of bread?

 

 

2- Mallory collected 3 times as many books as Claire. Nikki collected 2 books more than Mallory. Brad collected at 6 books less than Nikki. How many books did each person collect if the total number of books they collected was 44?

 

 

3-At an archery competition, Shawna and Marshall's team tied Jamie and Wyatt's team for the top team score. Team score are determined by adding the two team members individual scores. Marshall scored 12 less than Jamie. Shawn scored twice as much as Marshall. Wyatt scored 4 less than Shawna. What was each person's individual score?

 

 

4-Four students brought their teacher flowers. Mary brought 10 more than 3 times as many flowers as Harper. Olivia presented her teacher with twice as many as Harper. Brooke gave the teacher 10 more than Olivia. How many flowers did each person bring their teacher if Harper and Mary bring the same number of flowers as Brooke and Oliva?

n= 2+m

b= n-6

m+n+b+c = 44

3c + 2+3c + 2+3c-6 + c = 44

10c = 44 +2 = 46

c = 4.6

m= 3(4.6) = 13.8

n =2+3(4.6) = 2+13.8 = 15.8

b = 15.8-6 = 9.8

4.6+13.8+15.8+9.8

= 18.4 + 25.6

= 44
