For any arithmetic sequence, the formula for computing the nth term is:
an = a1 + (n-1)d
Applying this formula to our problem:
a1 (1st term) = -30
n (sequence # of term of interest) = 20
d (common difference between terms) = 8
a20 = -30 + (20-1)(8)
a20 = -30 + (19)(8)
a20 = -30 + 152
a20 = 122
