An arithmetic sequence means that you are adding the same amount each time. For this one, the amount is .15
So, for the 2nd term you are adding .15 once.
For the 3rd term, you are adding it twice (2x.15)
For the 4th term, you are adding it 3 times (3x.15)
So, for the 31st term how many .15s are you adding? 30, of course
So what are you adding to the original 1.40? 30x.15 = 4.5
The 31st term is 1.40 + 4.50 = 5.90
Since the other four questions you asked are the same as this one, just with different numbers, you should be able to do all of them now.
