Algebra 2 word problem- please help

Question

A charter airline finds that on it's Saturday flights from Philly to London all 120 seats will be sold if the ticket price is $200. However, for each $3 increase in price, the number of seats sold decreases by 1. Find the formula for the number of seats sold if the ticket price is P dollars.

x represents the number of increases

 

P = (120 - x)(200 + 3x)

P - 200 represents the increase in price

(P - 200) / 3 represents the number of increases and seats lost

 

120 - (P - 200) / 3 represents the number seat sold

 

360/3 - P/3 + 200/3
