C is the circumference of a circle. d is its diameter. C / d = π
π is a non-terminating, non-repeating decimal. It cannot be represented as the ratio of two integers.
To five decimal places 3.14159.

With problems having "magic numbers" (numbers that make the math really easy) like finding the circumference of a circle with radius 7, you may use the estimate for ∏ of (22/7) and quickly move on to the next problem  (note: some tests expect you to do this).
