there are 800 total seats so
theater 1 + theater 2 + theater 3 = 800
we know there are 270 seats in theater 1 so substitute into the equation
270 + theater 2 + theater 3 = 800
we also know theater 2 has 150 more than theater 3
so let theater 3 be "x", then theater 2 will be 150 + x
now plug that info into our equation
270 + 150 + x + x =800
now solve for x
420 + 2x = 800
2x =380
x = 190
so we know that theater 3 has 190
theater 2 has 150 more than theater 3 so theater 2 has 150 + 190 or 340
That answers the question Theater 2 has 340 seats
Now check: do all the theaters add up to 800
270 + 340 + 190 =800
