(72 + 67 + 82 + 79 + 2x) / 6 >= 77  …. you use 2x for the variable and divide by 6 because the final example has double the weight of the beginning exams

Solving that for the value of x yields

300 + 2x >= 462

2x >= 162

x >= 81

what that tells us is that she needs to score above 81 in order pass the course with an average of 77 or higher
