The cost of producing 480 permanent markers is $895. Producing 530 permanent markers would cost $915. Find the average cost per permanent marker of the additional 50 permanent markers over 480. Answer: _____per permanent marker

You can compute this like a simple average by taking the change in price and then dividing by the change in quantity.

In this case that would be

($915 – $895) / (530 – 480)

= $20 / 50

= $0.40
