Hi Michelle,
It's just trial and error and experience doing these types of problems. Being a former math teacher helps also. Can you make 10 using 4 5's ?
(5+5)*(5/5)=10 is one solution; any more ??
5?5/5 ? 5=10
5 ? 5 ? 5 ? 5=10
