the number of bolts produced daily by machine a is 300 less than 3 times the number produced by machine b. if machine a has an output of 4800 bolts per day, what is the daily output of machine b?

the number of bolts produced daily by machine a =4800

let the number produced by machine b be x

 three times of x= 3x

300 less than 3 times of x=3x-300 (which is number of bolts produced daily by machine a)

 

So,    3x - 300 = 4800

         3x   =  4800+300

               = 5100

          x  = 5100/3  =  1700 bolts

 Daily output of machine b is 1700 bolts
