I’m attempting to find the quotient and remainder and have no idea what to do

 

6x^3-5x^2+x+1divided by x+2

Answer 1

x + 2 = x - (-2)

 

Use synthetic division:

 

-2⌋   6     -5     1     1

    _____-12__34__-70

       6    -17   35   -69

 

The remainder is -69 and the quotient is 6x² - 17x + 35
