What is the distance from Jackson to Denton?

Distance from Jackson to Salem is 84 miles. Distance from Bellevue to Denton is 61 miles. Distance from Bellevue to Salem is 18 miles. What is the distance from Jackson to Denton?

In this problem, distances are positive.
 
Also, we assume that the distance from Jackson to Denton is by way of the other cities.  So, using just the letters, we have:
       J to S     84 mi
       B to D    61 mi
       B to S    18 mi
What is:
       J to D   ?
It is:
      (J to S) + (S to B) + (B to D)        [distances are positive]
         84     +    18      +   61
 add them up.

This question, as so many others, is poorly written.  In order to work this to the solution as
David W presented, we have to assume that Bellevue and Denton are not between Jackson
and Salem. 
 
There are various other solutions... without pulling out a map to verify actual directions ....
It could be that Bellevue is between Salem and Jackson, and Denton between Bellevue and
Jackson which could put the answer to as small as 5 miles.
