To find the equivalent ratios, we multiply the numerator and denominator by the same number.
 
One ratio is
 
(17 / 19) * (2 / 2) = 34 / 38
 
 
Another ratio is
 
(17 / 19) * (3 / 3) = 51 / 57
 
 
A third ratio is
 
(17 / 19) * (4 / 4) = 68 / 76

Note that this works because any number divided by itself = 1... in other words x/x = 1
This means we can multiply any number (fraction or otherwise) by x/x without changing it's actual value.
Thus Michael's answer of simply multiplying your original fraction by  2/2 ,  3/3 ,  4/4 ....

Isn't it interesting that we have the tendency to multiply by 2, 3, and 4, when writing 170/190 is so very easy.
