Write an equation in slope-intercept form for the line described: the x-axis

Please help me write the equation.

The slope-intercept form of the equation of a line is     y = mx + b

     where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept (the value of y when x=0)

 

For the x-axis, the slope m=0   (flat line) and when x=0, y=0.

So, the equation for the x-axis is:    y=0

 

For fun:  What is the equation for the y-axis?  (Is it even a function?)
