This assignment is really about showing that you understand the difference between individual (consumer) customers and organizational (business) customers, and how a global company reaches each group in the US and globally.
You can definitely use Apple or Coca Cola. For example, with Apple, individual customers are everyday people who buy iPhones, Macs, or Apple TV+ for personal use. Apple reaches them through Apple Stores, its website, phone carriers, social media, and country specific advertising.
Apple’s B2B/organizational customers include phone carriers (like AT&T or Vodafone), big retailers, schools and universities, large companies that buy devices for employees, and government agencies. Apple reaches these through enterprise and education sales teams, resellers, and special business/education programs, both in the US and in other countries.
If you pick one company and explain its target audiences - who its top consumers are, who its business customers are, and list a few ways it reaches each group inside and outside the US, you will cover what the question is asking.

There are a lot articles and documentaries about Apple, CocaCola, McDonalds, Nike and VW regarding their marketing and target audience. Most of these articles are from around 2003ish when branding was a popular topic for the general public. With companies like these you’ll probably have too much information. I’d do a search on one or two and read the articles. Then organize an essay outline with a few key points then read a few more articles to confirm your choices. Time has an article about how Nike got into China by creating a culture first. McDonalds and Coke have movies and of course there are a ton of books and movies about Steve Jobs, my favorite being Triumph of the Nerds or something like that. VW’s most famous story is more about the Bug. The sources you decide to use will depend on your level in high school, college, or graduate school.06/13/24
