6 bedroom house costs $6,000 to rent. The master bedroom highest price, smallest = lowest price. How much should each person pay?

Total of 6 bedrooms. Master bedroom then from there they get smaller. I need to know how much each person should pay, from the smallest bedroom being the smallest amount of money to the master bedroom being the most. The amount of money has to add up to $6,000.

One possible answer:

 

Lets say that the smallest room has price x.

 

The second biggest room has price 2x, third biggest is 3x, and so on till the 6th (biggest/master) being 6x.

 

They all add up to 6000 -> x + 2x + 3x + 4x + 5x + 6x = $6000;

 

-> 21x = $6000;

 

-> x = $6000/21 gives x = $285.7

 

Smallest room is for 285.7

 

second is for 2*285.7 = 571.4

 

third is for 3*285.7 = 857.1

 

and so on.

 

You can use any combination of price e.g.

 

x + 2x + 4x + 8x + 16x +32x

or

x +1.5x + 3x + 4.5x +6x +7.5x
