The most important thing to know about this is that the die is fair. This means that each side is equally likely to be rolled. There are 6 sides. Each side then has a 1/6 chance of being rolled. The chance of rolling a 1 is 1/6, rolling a 3 is 1/6, rolling a 5 is 1/6, and rolling a 6 is 1/6. Add these all up and you will get 4/6. This can be reduced to 2/3.
The other way of looking at this is looking at all possible outcomes and seeing which are favorable. When the die is rolled, there are 6 possible outcomes. Of the 6 outcomes 4 are favorable, 1,3,5,6. This gives you 4/6 or reduced, 2/3.
