Often the words "per" indicates a ration (or fraction).

Rewording the problem, there is 2.5 in. per 25 yd in the model; so how long (x) would the model be for 125 yd?

Stating the ration,        X in. / 125 yd  =  2.5 in. / 25 yd
X in. = (2.5 in / 25 yd.) * 125 yd.              (be sure that the units cancel out -- that will improve your confidence that you are solving this correctly!)
