Anyway...
They've already given the probabilities for under 18 (1/4) and over 30 (1/3), so all that's left is the range between 18 and 30, which is what they're asking about. So 18-30 must be 1 minus the sum of the other two ranges: 1 - (1/4 + 1/3) = 1 - 7/12 = 5/12.
Of 1/2 the fans are women, then the probability of picking a woman from 18 to 30 is 1/2 * 5/12 = 5/24.

Yeah, I noticed the music theme, but I figured it was just a quirk of the teacher. I hope the math isn't too hard for you guys!
The thing that had me laughing about this particular question was the subplot -- the band figuring out how to meet young women at their shows!

Shouldnt the 2 probabilities be multiplied instead of adding them. ie 1 - (1/4 * 1/3) = 1 - 1/20 =19/20 . Since they are said above 19 and below 30?
