A band estimates that 3/8 of people on its mailing list has seen the band play exactly once, and that 7/16 of people on its mailing list have seen the band play more than once. What fraction of people on the band’s mailing list have seen the band play at least once? Your answer must be a fraction in lowest terms.

For this problem, you do 3/8 + 7/16. We need to have the same denominator so we get 6/16 + 7/16 = 13/16. This is due to that we are adding the fraction of people that saw the band once plus the fraction that saw to band more than once to get the fraction of people that have seen the band play at least once.
