Hi, This is solved by the multipliaction Principle. If one event can occur in M ways and another event can occur in N ways then the total number of ways that both can occur is M times N. Here, you have three events, choosing type of wood, type of widths and type of lenghts. There are 5 ways to choose wood type, 3 ways for width and 6 for length. Thus there are 5x3x6 = 90 different configuarions for the types of shelves to be made .
