This is a pre-calc 2 hw problem that will be graded and I do not know how to go about this question thank you

Forces with magnitudes of 200 newtons and 900 newtons act on a machine part at angles 30° and −45°, respectively (with the positive x-axis). Find the magnitude and direction of the resultant force.

It's a strangely-worded problem, but I see the forces to be both toward the right, one 30deg above the horizontal and the other 45deg below.  To add the vectors, you need to apply the appropriate vertical and horizontal components and form a resultant vector.
