f(x) = √(x-1) - 1 is defined only when x - 1 ≥ 0.  So, x ≥≥1.

 

The "leftmost" point on the graph is (1, f(1)) = (1, -1)

 

Three other points:  (2, f(2)) =      (2, 0)

                                    (5, f(5)) =      (5, 1)

                                    (10, f(10)) =  (10, 2)
