(2x-5)(x²+4x-7)

=2x³+8x²-14x-5x²-20x+35

=2x³+3x²-34x +35 ...ans

 

(x³-10x²+ 33x-28)/(x-5)

 

Can find solution using synthetic division as x-5 is not a factor of the numerator .

 

You can check doing actual division.

 

∴x=5 is not a zero.  

 

5 | 1     -10     33      -28

   |

   |        5       -25       40

   -------------------------

     1      -5     8           12

 

so the solution is

 

(x²-5x+8)+12(x-5)  ....ans

 

 

check by multiplying ans with (x-5) ; you will get the numerator.
