Solve the equation. Check the solution: 1/(x-3) = (x-4)/(x^2-27)

This is solving rational equations by finding the LCD, but every time i try the problems I get a solution but it does not check out.

This equation is a proportion 

 x^2 - 27 =(x -3)(x -4)

x^2 - 27 = x^2 -7x +12

7x = 39

x =39/7

x = 5.571
