College music instructor makes music theory fun to learn!
Hello, Les Paul invented the first electric guitar, in his basement. He became famous and a guitar was named after him which is a quality instrument. When I was a music educator for public schools (I taught General Music, K-5, as well as Middle and High School Choir and Middle School Orchestra for 28 years) I always spent 20 minutes of one 5th grade class period educating students about the guitar and Les Pauls' contribution. Guitar is the most popular instrument in the world and Les Paul electric guitars are sought after by students and teachers alike.

Before Les Paul developed the hollow body electric that became standard for rock, there were already hollow body (archtop) axes made for electric amplification back in the late '30s, like the Gibson used by Charlie Christian.01/07/25
