Math and science made easy - learn from a retired engineer
If she started with 50 and had 14 left over when she was done, then she used (50 - 14) eggs. To find out how many eggs were required per batch, we divide the number of eggs used by the number of batches she made so:
(50 - 14)/12 = 36/12 = 3
She used 3 eggs per batch
