in some parts below except the correct answers.. but you just want to know TRANS V CIS OBVIOUSLY
(1) Are you referring to a staggered drawing with the dashes and wedges ?==> It matters... I'll assume it's drawn staggered,,,
You will get the (z)1,2-diphenylpropene--- I'm seeing (R,R) 1-bromo-2-methyl-1,2-diphenylethane....

(2) This will be the opposite of the above, as it has changed one stereocenter but not both... the (s,s) would have given the same (cis/trans) isomer as the r,r ... but this will give (E)1,2-diphenylpropene
