Are my work clothes tax deductible?
It depends. Ask yourself: 1) Do I have to wear these clothes as a condition of my employment? 2) Is this a special uniform required by my employer and s/he does not reimburse me for cleaning it? 3) Do these clothes have a logo? If you answered yes, the clothes are probably tax deductible. However, if these clothes are suitable for everyday wear, then they are not tax deductible. In any profession that requires protective clothing (like hard hats, special boots, etc.), you can deduct the clothing. More tax tips headed your way.
