Solve for y, you must isolate y, all other values are integers a,b,c,d
multiply both sides by denominator
ay+b / cy + 1 = d
ay+b = d(cy+1)
Distribute d into parentheses
ay + b = dcy +d
Combine like terms
ay - dcy = d - b
Factor out y
y(a-dc) = d - b
y = (d-b)/(a-dc)
