HBr adds to the double bond to form CH3-CHBr-CH2-CH3.
The balanced reaction is therefore CH2=CH-CH2-CH3 + HBr ====> CH3-CHBr-CH2-CH3.
The addition follows the Markownikoff rule which states that the H+ ion adds to the carbon with the greater number of hydrogens.
