Ocean currents can be clockwise or counterclockwise depending on hemisphere, their intensity depends on various factors including sun and wind, rather the force of wind, water temperature and of course human activity. Therefore, biologically the currents affect flora and fauna in deep ocean.

 

The direction of the current will change the salinity or sea-water based on additional geographical and environmental factors.
