1st person can do 1/6th of the job in one day.

2nd person can do 1/4 of the job in one day.

Together they can do 1/6 + 1/4 = 2/12 + 3/12 = 5/12 th of the job in one day,

so it will take them 12/5 or 2.4 days to complete the job.
