Two suggestions, if you are concerned about deterring potential employers: (1) Especially if applying for a job outside agriculture, where your specific duties aren't relevant to a hiring decision but you just want to avoid the gap on your resume, you could identify yourself via your role and your employer without specifically naming marijuana (e.g. Agricultural Manager, Green View Farm, Townname, Oregon), describing your responsibilities in terms that don't specify what crop you are growing. You could then explain in more detail during an interview. Or (2), especially if the employer name gives the crop away or your duties would be obviously cannabis-linked, you could specify that you are working in your state's /legal/ cannabis industry (e.g. in the description of your duties you would begin with something like "Was agricultural manager for Green View Farm, a licensed [your state here] cannabis grower"). Obviously if you weren't working for a licensed grower that's a different issue: this answer is for the increasing number of people who are participating in their states' legal cannabis sector and will need to include that work on their resumes.
